Spratt Fireplaces was founded by our father in early 1985 out of the need for a fireplace in our new family home, being involved in the building industry for many years in Ireland and UK he decided to put his skills to use and decided to make his own. Orders started coming from relatives and friends and soon word of mouth spread thus the company Spratt Fireplaces was born. The company traded as H.Spratt Fireplaces and his showroom was a room adjoined to our Family home, it soon grew too big and so then our building which we are in today began life, and it grew to keep up with the business, and still growing to this day, with our recent workshop been erected to house our new Granite processing machinery.
In 2013 our father Henry retired (although still the Boss) and the company was handed over to myself (Jim) and Henry. We have both worked in the company from a young age through holidays and such, I started full time in 1997 and Henry joined full time in 2010 after working as a engineer in the National Roads Authority.
Although the core of the company is still proving high quality fireplaces throughout Donegal and Ireland we have expanded into the stove market and are now one of the largest stove retailers in the northwest of Ireland, with top major Brand as Morso, Stovax, Stratford, Spartherm, Hunter, Dilusso Boru and many more.
We also supply and install Granite, Marble and Quartz Kitchen Worktops, as we have worked with Granite's and Marble for years it was an easy market for us to get into. We invested in cutting an polishing machinery to ensure the highest stardard of finish, and we us allply the same standard that was beaten into us by our father in the installation process.
The most import advise he gave us while work in a customers home was to leave it as tidy as you found it.
